05.07.2015 A Cambridge University study has revealed that the true number of young homeless people in the UK far exceeds the government figures
Experts at Cambridge University’s Centre for Housing and Planning Research say 83-thousand young Britons lived in homes provided by charities and councils. That’s more than three times the number recorded by the Department of Communities and Local Government. Official figures don’t include homeless people who do not meet the government’s narrow criteria for homelessness which would force councils to help them. The study also said over one-in-seven young people slept rough over the past year.
